It doesn't take much experience loading a trunk mounted rack a few times and watching your bikes sway and move to know there's got to be a better way. My brother-in-law's Thule T-2 works great, but its pretty expensive and a little heavy for a small car. Once I found this, I never looked back! There are a number of hitch racks that are designed very similarly to this setup (Hollywood, Xport, Swagman), but the fact that this version includes all the necessary locks makes it superior to the others. I got mine for $165 online which beat even Amazon by $50. Most of the better trunk-mounted racks costs more. It's super light (my wife can mount and load it), very secure (the locking anti-rattle bolt works well)and even small enough to fit in the trunk. I can say after a 600 mi trip from Norcal to Mammoth Mountain and back it works like a dream. Can't be beat for $165!
Pros Locking and ratcheting arms, light weight, Stable, easy on and off car, very quick and easy loading of bikes
Cons Velcro wheel straps. A ratcheting belt-type closure would be better.
