These have already paid for themselves. I came down hard on a tree root with my knee. The initial hit hurt - but within a minute or two, I had forgotten I'd even crashed & there was no marks or bruising on my knee.
Pros Lightweight - barely know they are on once you start riding. Not a hinderance to wear.
Flexible protection
Cons They do get pretty sweaty, but as another reviewer said, you do not notice it until you take them off.
I would definately recommend these to someone looking for a flexible alternative to traditional hard pads. These helped my climbing/fatigue and I know this because I ride the same trails multiple times during the week and was not expecting them in any way to help but they were the only thing that changed in my routine. Get these pads!!
Pros Very comfortable, compress the vastus thigh muscle aiding in recovery and stamina, breath fairly well, do a great job of protecting as they should :-)
Cons velcro straps stick to virtually every part of the pads, They are soaked in sweat after the ride although you don't notice till you remove them.
