These were the most comfortable and most protective knee pads I have found. After having knee surgery I am very particular about having adequate coverage in the event of a crash. These knee pads stay in place, are very adjustable (except for the short straps, but there is just enough there to get by) and hold up well.
Pros easy on and off
good protection coverage
comfortable
durable
Hands down the best pair of knee pads I've ever owned. They have held up in all of the areas that my other pads have worn out (knee cup, top section of neoprene), and don't look any worse for wear.
I was a little unsure of the functionality of the D30 material for protection but they work! Any hard impact and they instantly harden so you don't feel a thing.
The only thing that I can even conjure up as a con is to be sure to remove the tags before heading out for your first ride. They'll scratch the heck out of your legs.
Pros - Tough and durable
- Open back, no need to remove your shoes to put on and take off
- Superior knee and side protection
- Pads stay where you put them on
- Aesthetically pleasing
- Good coverage, but breathable
Cons - Tags were uncomfortable, they needed to be removed before riding
- A little bulky if you plan to wear them under pants
