If you want a 1800LM (claimed) light with many features and quality construction, this light it the one for you! I don't have any personal experience to compare, but have to believe this light compares to several that cost 2X to 4X more.
Pros What's not to like? The MJ-816E claims 1800LM (400LM more than last years model). The switch is mounted on the bars, which makes it easy to turn on/off and make adjustments on the fly. There are three modes 1. pencil 2. flood, and all three lights. Plus, if you hold the switch, the light will dim and brighten from 5% to 100% so you can adjust the light to your exact need. The bar mounted switch also changes colors to indicate the battery strength (as well as a back lit, digital voltage indicator on the battery pack). Bottom line, the light is extremely bright and has a great coverage of the terrain while in total darkness.
Cons The light mounts to the bars with a thick O-ring. So far, this has seemed to be fine, but I'm not sure about it yet.
