I would recommend this to anyone in the market for a quality lightweight rack that carries 2 bikes without purchasing anything extra. I went back and forth between this and the 1Up. I don't believe you can go wrong with either one, but the Kuat Sherpa carries 2 bikes without purchasing anything extra, weighs less, and looks better.ProsEasy to use, secure, comes with cable and locking hitch pin, 1.25 or 2.0", folds up out of the wayConsLonger bikes can hang off the rack a bit - still secure but would be nice if Kuat made an extension.
What not as adjustable as the NV, I prefer this rack for it simplicity and compactness. it is a little expensive, but I think you can see it is worth it. very stable when driving. very easy to use. Update 2017 little over a year later and it is still going strong. not showing signs of wear. it is left on most of the time and has been on several long trips.
Pros Build quality and design. Aluminum light weight. Stable easy to install. Easy to mount bike. Paint matched my car so looks good. they fixed all the problems with the previous model. Minimal plastic on this model. Fit and finish is the best I have seen.
Cons none, I looked at dozens of racks and this one was my favorite, I also looked at the new Thule t2 pro, but it was more money and much more plastic.
