I love my 62. It does everything I need when hiking and/or camping. I don't really use it on my bike when riding local trails as it's big and clunky and I just would hate to break it on a fall. That's what the Edge 500 is for. This one does come out when I'm just exploring on the bike as the mapping is great, the tracking is great. It's a full blown GPS that allows me to do things that the Edge doesn't do and frankly, I don't really need on a normal ride around my local trails.
The software is really nice as well as you can overlay maps, add maps, purchase Garmin maps, etc. I use it fishing to mark spots, as mentioned before, hiking and camping and I've been trying to get my daughters into geocashing as well. No luck yet, but I'm working.
If you're looking for a GPS, I highly recommend this one. There is a new version out...I think it's the 64. But, you should still be able to find these on closeout. if you can, grab one. You won't be sorry.
