This is a great, rugged, cheap GPS and if you can't afford the Edge 305 this is what I'd recommend getting. Plan on buying the bike mount for it because all it comes with is an arm strap, but even with that you're only looking at about $130 for this. Really great bang for your buck!

+ Amazon now has this for $119
+ Once I bought the bike mount for this (about $10 from Garmin's web site) it's been a great GPS for mtb without getting in the way at all.
+ It's waterproof and does a good job of collecting information even in relatively thick cover.
+ Backlit screen helps when it gets dark

    - USB connection would have been a lot nicer than serial, but at least it comes with a data cable and it's cheap so it's hard to complain

    - Navigating the trackback features can be a little tricky, especially if you don't clear the track history before you start riding

    - Landscape (wide) display doesn't lend itself well to showing what's in front of you as well as the portrait oriented GPS do, but it's nice and out of your way when you're just gathering data for review later on your PC.

If you are a duathlete this is a good choice - the running functions on the Forerunner are great. If you're looking for a unit to take cycling/mountain biking stick with the eTrex or Edge series from Garmin.

Limited cycling related data, poor GPS signal reception, wristband is bulky when riding (use a handlebar mount instead).
