I own the Garmin eTrex Legend and have it mounted on the handlebars of my mountain bike. It keeps track of where I'm going, where I've been, and how fast I went.
Pros Easy to use and packed with many many features. Nice, compact size and has simple buttons to toggle back and forth through the features.
Cons It takes a while to finally track all the satellites, when you first turn it on. If you venture deep into the woods, you'll lose your signal under all the trees.
This unit has been added to my arsenal and I've never looked back since. The optional bike mount is a "must", of course. Works fairly well in heavy tree cover, but is lost, as every other unit I ever owned, when you go under overpasses, through tunnels and caves. This started out as my geocaching main tool, but has now become a permanent fixture on my bikes.
Pros It's small size makes this unit a winner for biking. Battery life has not been a drag, but I would recommend using rechargeable ni-cads. The lighted display is a great feature and the display is very clear considering the size. With Garmin Mapsource, (sold seperately) I have charted most of my trips, although to interface you will have to get a (reliable)serial to usb converter for most most newer laptops.
Cons Very rarely the display goes goofy or drops entirely, but comes back when I punch the power switch. A USB cable is not available. (see my review)
I would not recommend this to a first time buyer because of its cost, but if you like GPSs, and you want one that is nice but not too expensive, this one is a great buy.
Pros Love how reliable it is for the amount of money it cost. OK, it isn't cheap, but it's about the least expensive really good GPS on the market. It also has a better battery life than the rest (18 vs. 12 hours).
Cons It isn't in color, and if you geocache like me, sometimes you wish you had one that was a bit fancier, in color, and got even better reception.

Excellent GPS for anyone who might be looking for simple location or navigation help. Not a lot of bells and whistles.
